The privacy notice will give you information on how the Unlocking Ambition website collects, uses, shares and looks after your personal information. Personal information, or personal data, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. Anything we do with your personal information (from the point at which we collect it until we delete it from our systems) is called processing.

The Unlocking Ambition website is delivered by Scottish Enterprise in partnership with Scottish Government, Highlands & Islands Enterprise, Scottish Development International and Entrepreneurial Scotland and governed by Scottish Enterprise. Its purpose is to serve as an information point for individuals interested in learning more about the Unlocking Ambition programme. It is not a direct business development resource and is advisory only.

Who we are

The Unlocking Ambition Challenge is a £4 million entrepreneurial development fund created by the Scottish Government, initiated by the First Minister for Scotland, that supports highly ambitious entrepreneurs chosen for their individual potential, the quality of their ideas and the contribution they can make to the Scottish economy and wider society. The Unlocking Ambition Scottish Enterprise programme (Unlocking Ambition) is a service delivered by Scottish Enterprise (SE) on behalf of partner organisations Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Scottish Development International and Entrepreneurial Scotland.

Anonymised Data is the process of turning personal information into a form which does not identify individuals and where identification is not likely to take place.

Your rights

Access to your information

You have the right to request a copy of the personal information about you ​that Scottish Enterprise (SE) holds.

Correcting your information

SE want to make sure that your personal information is accurate, complete and up to date. You may ask SE to correct any personal information about you that you believe does not meet these standards.

Deletion of your information

You have the right to ask SE to delete personal information about you where: You consider that SE no longer requires the information for the purposes of the​ website, for which it was obtained.

Objecting to how we may use your information

You have the right at any time to require SE to stop using your personal information for direct marketing purposes.

If SE uses your personal information on an automated basis to make decisions which significantly affect you, you have the right to ask that the decision be reviewed by an individual within SE to whom you may make representations and contest the decision.

This right only applies where SE uses your information with your consent or as part of a contractual relationship with you.

Where SE uses your personal information with your consent you may withdraw that consent at any time and SE will stop using your personal information for the purpose(s) for which consent was given.
